Clarkson HI96769
Anionic Detergents Waterproof Photometer with 610 nm filter and Cal Check
Hanna Instruments HI 96769
Description:
Detergents are produced in large quantities and are widely used in many applications. For example
in the textile industry, paper mills, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Due to their common use,
detergents are introduced into the water supply through domestic and industrial drains. Detergents
are harmful to water treatment plants, due to the scum that is created by emulsifying oil and grease.
So, by law, detergent concentrations must be monitored in wastewaters. HANNA® offers HI 96769 to
monitor anionic detergents, expressed in sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate, from 0.00 to 3.50
mg/L according to MBAS. HI 96706 is an auto-diagnostic portable photometer. The advanced optical
system employs a specialized tungsten lamp and a narrow band interference filter, assuring accurate
readings. This instrument is equipped with Cal Check® validation function and standards to validate
good performance at any time. Taking just a few short steps, the validation procedure is user-friendly
and ensures that the meter is properly calibrated wherever you go. Hanna photometers use the
exclusive ready-made, NiST traceable standards to verify the performance of the instrument and
recalibrate if necessary. Cuvets are constructed from specialized optical glass to ensure the best and
most consistent results. The positive locking system ensures that the cuvet is in the same position
every time it is placed into the measuring cell. Our sample cell is designed to fit a cuvet with a wide
neck to make it easier to add both sample and reagents. All instruments are factory calibrated and
the electronic and optical design minimizes the need for frequent calibration. Ideal for field
applications, these meters are splash proof and the lamp and filter units are protected from dust or
dirt by a transparent barrier. Display messages aid the user during routine operation. The auto-off
feature will disengage the meter after 10 minutes of non-use in measuring mode or 1 hour while in
calibration mode. Reagents are in powdered form and are supplied in packets. The amount of
reagent is precisely dosed to ensure maximum repeatability. HI 96769 utilizes an adaptation of
USEPA Method 425.1 for drinking waters, surface waters, domestic and industrial wastes and
Standard methods, 20th Edition, 5540C, Anionic Surfactants as MBAS.
